ONLINE: Online registration via RunSignup closed on the evening of 10/13 when we hit our 140-runner entrant limit.

BY MAIL: We still offered paper entry for anyone uncomfortable with online transactions, but we received no paper entries this year.

RACE DAY: With the race sold out, there will be no race day registration this year. We will be selling leftover merch from previous years: Leftover 2025 white & green volunteer running caps (we have eight left) may be purchased for $10 each, and leftover 2024 royal blue beanies (a.k.a. knit hats) (we have seven left) are available for $5 each. Check or cash only; we cannot process credit cards or other electronic payments in Browntown.

If you are a past overall winner or a five-time finisher, you may still petition for late entry. No guarantees, but we may allow a few eligible people in despite registration being closed. More details and names of eligible runners appear here. Regular entry fees will still apply.

If you'd like you wanted a black running cap embroidered with the race logo in orange (while supplies last!), the base entry fees are were $30 in advance or $40 on race day.

Without the running cap, it is was $24 in advance or $34 on race day (so basically $6 off). (This discount applied automatically on RunSignup once we sold out of caps.)

What the 2026 running cap looks like

Members of the Shenandoah Valley Runners may take were able to take a $2 discount (thus paying $28 early or $38 on race day with the running cap, or $22 early/$32 race day without the running cap). SVR members registering online should make sure they are logged into RunSignup using the account associated with their SVR membership, and the discount will apply automatically. If you're interested in joining the SVR, you can join the club as you register for Greasy-Gooney or you can join separately via the SVR's RunSignup page. You can also check the status of any of your RunSignup club memberships here.

Note: Entries are non-refundable and non-transferable (more info), although limited exceptions to the "no refund" policy may be made on a case-by-case basis in the event of illness, as we don't want sick runners participating in the race (more info).

Although Greasy-Gooney has never been intended as a fundraiser, we will be donating any & all proceeds from the 2026 race to the Browntown Community Center Association and the Humane Society of Warren County. (Each received $643.26 last year thanks to the generosity of our Greasy-Gooney participants!)
